LUSH | Popcorn Lip Scrub

Following my last lip-related post, today i wanted to share my all time favourite lip scrub with you, 'Popcorn' by LUSH! This little marvel was gifted to me by my sister, she was in LUSH and thought i'd love it so brought it home for me, and she was right - it's amazing and delicious!

I use this scrub every now and then when my lips are in need of a little exfoliation, i always lick my lips before applying so the scrub doesn't scratch or hurt, a pea sized amount is all that's needed (as shown below), once applied i rub my lips together and ta-dah! They're super-soft and ready for a coat of lip-balm or whatever tickles my fancy!

I love the fact LUSH date they're lip-balms with a sticker so you know when the product was made, as well as provide an expiration date - it goes to show how fresh LUSH product are and the quirky animated image of the man who made my scrub is a cute touch, it makes the scrub personal and i love that!

The formula IS EDIBLE! This excited me the most, after every application i always find myself happily licking the scrub off my lips, i can imagine the other flavors taste just as scrumptious but 'Popcorn' is veryyy satisfying to my taste-buds! It contains coconut oil, sugar and butter caramel so your assured there's no funky ingredients in there (which to be honest i'd still eat otherwise!).

Not to mention the scent is a delicious mix of sweet and salty caramel goodness, with a buttery coating - mmm! The cute glass-pot ties the cuteness of this product all-together and it's a real treat for my lips!

A Duo Made in Heaven | MAC's Spice It Up! and Red Enriched

I've been reaching for Mac's 'Spice It Up!' lipstick a huge amount recently, so i thought it would be a good idea to match a lipliner to it and put the duo to proper use! My lips are tough to work with, their constantly chapped unless i slather them in some sort of balm, and the outline of my lips isn't massively defined so a lip-liner makes a huge difference!

'Spice It Up!' is a mulled brown berry lipstick by MAC, it has a lustre finish so is part-glossy and moisturising, it can be worn lightly or heavily depending on how applied. It's by far one of my favourite lipsticks! I wear it sheer and pat it into my lips for a suttle punch of colour - against my olive toned skin it looks really pretty (especially when i'm tanned), it can be built up for a vampy look too by packing on layers.

I wanted a lip-liner that was a close match to the lipstick, so took my lipstick down to the MAC concession in the Selfridges Beauty Hall, and had it matched to a cremestick liner, 'Red Enriched'.

I trusted the MAC associates opinion and have heard nothing bad about MAC lip-liners before so wasn't at all hesitant to buy whatever was recommended. 'Red Enriched' is described by MAC as a 'rich auburn', the formulas really soft and creamy which is just what my lips need, anything sharp and harsh would probably stain my lip-line leaving an 80's esc disaster! and wouldn't feel as moisturising as a cremestick liner.

Right - Spice It Up! Lipstick             Left - Red Engraved Lip-Liner

The colour match is near-enough perfect and when blended in with a lip-brush looks flawless.

  1. Next time anyone is hesitant on matching a lip-liner to a lipstick don't be hesitant to ask a makeup associate! It's they're job to help and they know whats best. Everything has it's dupe so if your on a budget always check out drugstore lip-liners and let me know what works for you!

Tried and Tested | Lancome Hypnose 'Doll Eyes' and 'Drama' Mascara

I've tried and tested Lancome's hit mascaras for a good few months now, and i'm ready to give you my full review of 'Doll Eyes' and 'Drama'.

The moment i discovered these mascaras are faves of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, i had to get my hands on them. Those of you who have been keeping up with me for a while will know i loove Kendall, she's by far my favourite Kardashian-Jenner sister, and after being asked what mascara she uses by a fan on Twitter, she replied saying she uses 'Doll Eyes' and 'Drama'.

Both mascaras perform very differently, and i think it all comes down to the natural length, curl, and thickness of your own lash.. i do think these mascaras benefit those who have naturally fuller lashes the most, as the brushes are very large and the bristles therefore really need lashes to cling onto to give the best results.

First up is 'Doll Eyes', this is defiantly the 'day' mascara out of the two.. the wand is tapered which creates fuller lashes at the outer-corners of the eyes, almost creating a cat-eye illustion depending on how many coats you apply. The bristle brush hairs are fairly spread from one-another, separating the lashes which opens up the eye and prevents clumping. The consistency is great, not clumpy at all nor too runny or wet.

I always use one coat of mascara because i think multiple coats can create a spidery lash and that is not a good look! 'Doll Eyes' delivers great results with just one coat which is something i always look for in mascaras. Lastly 'Doll Eyes' hasn't shown any signs of drying-out (considering iv'e had it in my collection for over 3 months now), so that's always a bonus and something you hope doesn't happen considering the price-tag!

This mascara is £22.50 which i think is expensive for something i haven't picked up to use everyday (as the results can be slightly dramatic for my everyday makeup), but it is a good choice for someone who wants a specific style of 'lashes' (e.g. cat eye). Unfortunately i wouldn't repurchase 'Doll Eyes' because i always like to try new mascaras as there are soo many out there, but like i said it's good for a certain audience!

'Drama' is a whole other story, it's perfect for the evening, the wand is curved which i find suits my lash-shape really well, the wand fits snug in my lash-line and gives super-long lashes! I stop after one coat to avoid clumpy-ness, and am left with fluttery lashes which could even be mistaken for falsies!

I don't reach for this mascara on a daily basis because it is very dramatic (as hinted in the name), it opens my eyes and makes them look even bigger than they already are. It's definatly a 'Kardashian' mascara, it gives you flirty lashes with full-volume.

I've noticed 'Drama' dries out faster than 'Doll Eyes' and this is a downer especially since i only use it on evening occasions, and i always find myself scraping half of the excess mascara off of the wand before applying, as it just picks up too much 'mascara-gloop' from the bottle!

Unfortunately  i wouldn't repurchase 'Drama' due to the fact it picks up too much excess mascara from the bottle, and that i can only really get away with using it at night. But for someone who likes a dramatic eye non-stop, this would be a perfect match for you.. the lady at the Lancome counter even said 'Drama' is the most dramatic, full-impact mascara from the entire range!

I was slightly dissapointed that neither of the mascaras didn't turn me into Kendall Jenner or Kim Kardashain, haha! But like i said i think with Lancome mascaras it depends on your natural eye-shape and lash-line, the kardashians are gifted with a natural cat-eye shaped eye, and long thick lashes that naturally curl upwards, so as you can imagine most mascaras would suit theyre face-shape!

Despite all of that i can happily say I've tried and tested, am and ready to step on the mascara band-wagon again in search for something new. I've heard amazing things about 'Clinique's High Impact' mascara, so that will probably be my next purchase!
